Strategy for the Development of the Simulator
The graphic below illustrates the strategy for the Kyoto Model development and the time plan.
A cell is divided into functional units. Each unit is developed as an independent module. A module database should be published in about 3 years (see left side of the bottom figure).
A combination of these basic modules which can also be modified if necessary leads to simulators for various cell types. A myocardial cell simulator should be available for FDA (Food and Drug Administration) trials (figure bottom left, upper right).
As a final goal whole organ simulators based on single cell simulators are planned to be developed (figure bottom left, lower right).
